Hi there!

Thanks for dropping by. I'm Mikhal, an Israeli-born writer and Cantor living in New Jersey with my wife and two kids. I first came to the USA to study music, but after getting a degree in composition from Berklee College of Music in 2014, I went rogue and started writing words instead of music. I still write music sometimes, though.

I'm a proud generalist: I write music and book reviews, artist profiles, news coverage, personal essays, and a lot of SEO-optimized, ghostwritten content. Curiosity about the world and the people in it drives my work.

I've had the honor of writing for some wonderful publications, including Parents Magazine, JTA, Lilith Magazine, and the BBC, among others. When I manage it, I also write a Substack about being a mom with ADHD to a kid with ADHD, being queer, and how my Jewish faith informs my worldview.
